In the April 29-May 1, 2011 issue of the METRO, there was a brief article titled “Human cheese, please.” Back in the spring, NYU grad student, Miriam Simun was exhibiting her “Human Cheese” at the Michael Mut Gallery. The exhibit featured ricotta, mozzarella, and blue cheeses that visitors could sample made from the breast milk of three different women. According to Robert Sietsema of the Village Voice, Simun’s cheeses were illegal. P!NK’s Raise You Glass video came out back around October/November 2010…but it’s new to me, and may be new to you as well. It may also be news to you that that P!NK is a vegetarian. I saw this decal on the door of Cocoa V, the entirely vegan chocolate and wine cafe located at 174 Ninth Avenue in New York City, and Blossom Du Jour, for quick vegan to go, right next door. These eateries are the brain children of Pamela Elizabeth, a co-owner of the original Blossom vegan restaurant of NYC, who encourages a vegan lifestyle for all.
