For vegans, it was a two for Tuesday special on the season finale, Ice House, episode of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. Vegan bakers Doron Petersan of D.C.’s Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats and Kim Garr of L.A.’s C’est La V Bakeshop went head to head against two traditional cupcake makers for the grand prize. Of the four competitors, Petersan’s cupcakes reigned supreme.
During my trip to D.C. this past September, I got the chance to get to visit Sticky Fingers, and I can attest to their damn goodness!
Formerly Sticky Fingers Bakery, the shop gave itself a makeover last month. To emphasize their wide variety of menu items, from the sweet (cakes and cookies) to the savory (sandwiches and salads), they revised their name to Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats.
I haven’t actually seen this episode of Cupcake Wars, yet. So if you’re like me and missed it the first time around, be sure to catch it tomorrow (Sunday 3/13/2011) at 5pm or 11pm EST on the Food Network.
