I’d kind of gotten out of them, but when I was at FoodSwings, I was reminded of how easy it was for me to make vegetarian chili cheese dogs.  I’d originally jumped at the vegetarian hot dogs from MorningStar Farms as a simple substitution for the usual fare at summer gatherings. The warm weather this week put me in the mood for some comforting “summertime” eats.

Chili Dogs

  • Whole Foods Whole Wheat Hot Dog Rolls [Vegan]
  • Daiya Cheddar Style Shreds
  • Vegan Chili (I used Health Valley Organic Vegetarian 3 Bean Chipotle Chili, which actually appears to be vegan; I’ll contact the company to confirm.)
  • LightLife Smart Dogs [Vegan]

Option 2: Melt the cheese in the chili

Option 1: Pour on the chili then sprinkle on the cheese
